The Days of the Freak
Mar. 1st, 2021 08:53 pmI work three 12 hour shifts a week and work weekends (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) thus I find the usual days of the week to be not very useful for describing my days. I have taken the liberty of renaming them. I have spelled all these days to end in "day" because they are, you know, DAYS, but I think for the full effect they should be pronounced as they would be in a thick Appalachian accent, which is to say like "Sun-dee, Mon-dee, &etc. (for some dialect reason I don't understand "Friday" is not as often subjected to this treatment, but do as you like)
First
The Workend:
(these are the days you work)
Snatterday: the first day of the workend, generally called Saturday by people who don't work your weirdass schedule
Midday: typically referred to as "Sunday", about midday on Midday you will be halfway through your workend and over the bump on your "bump day," you might say.
Vonday: a workend day that combines all the worst qualities of both Mondays and Fridas. The world is gearing up and getting busy, however it's the last day of your workday before you get to your off days and therefore lasts forever
Then you have Freakdays (these are days you are off work)
Toonsday: a day of rest and relaxation. A day you might, for example, sit on the couch and watch cartoons while your brain goes vrrrrr and recovers
Woundsday: a day to visit and be visited by blood relations. One might, if one were so inclined, also participate in religious onservations on this day
Threesday: The third off day. Do whatever you want here. No pressure
Freeday: The last freakday. If you want to socialize with anyone who keeps a "normal", "five day" work week, this is probably your best chance
There are pros and cons to this whole arrangement, but in the plus column I never experience the "Sunday Scaries"
